1966 MGB

10/21/03 update: Now that I have gotten it running, and driving, I put alot of good miles on the car. Well, as of right now, The clutch hose is leaking, and I cant drive it. That stinks. Its really fun to drive. This car is very quick and handles great. I really like the looks of this car.

This is a ’66 MG B that we got Easter weekend 2003. we found it in the local trader paper. We went and looked at it Friday night, and it looked pretty decent. The first thing I noticed was that it had a flat tire. Yeah, pretty obvious huh. I started to check the car out and saw that it was in really nice shape under all that dust. By really nice, I mean not rusty much. The main places of rust are the rocker panel areas(right below the doors) on both sides. The car came with a lot of extra parts.

The list includes:
-doors, one extra for each side (rust free)
-trunk lid(rust free)
-passenger fender
-lots of little stuff(don’t even know exactly what yet)
-windscreen(cracked windshield)
-hood/convertible top(good enough to replace the one on it now)
-engine and trans(actually the ones sitting out of the car are the original ones, so I’m told)

The car as of right now, has an unoriginal engine in it. The guy we got it from told us the story of the car. Originally it was from Florida, then it made its way up to Massachusetts, and it attended the University of Delaware. It then came to the Cleveland, Ohio region. The car belonged to this guys friend. He said he replaced the engine with one from another “B” and then took a bunch of parts off the same car he got the engine from, hence all the extra parts I have now.

The car is in pretty good shape. There are some dings and dents on the body, but what else can you expect from a 30+year old car. This car has been fitted with an aftermarket complete stainless steel exhaust system. The interior looks bad right now, but with a good cleaning, and new seat covers, it will look just fine.
